Paul Ryan for VP? Charter flight tracker might have the answer

Take note veep-watchers: Earlier today, a charter plane took off  in Boston, stopped in Chicago, then flew to the tiny airport in Janesville, Wis. Janesville, of course, is the hometown of Representative Paul Ryan, a top vice-presidential contender. According to a source on the ground, the plane is still in Wisconsin.
Hmmm. Costa also reported that Romney is supposed to be in Virginia tomorrow and Ryan is supposed to be on vacation in Colorado, but Tagg Romney was in Milwaukee today with Ryan and Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker:

If Romney is picking Ryan as his running mate, and making the announcement in Wisconsin, the campaign would need to send advance team operatives to get everything set up. Presidential candidates don't just hop on planes and make surprise appearances, especially not for something as crucial as announcing the running mate.

Why make the announcement in Wisconsin? The Romney campaign has all but admitted they are not counting on winning Massachusetts, and I can see several reasons why Wisconsin would have a lot of positive appeal. Besides being Ryan's home state, it was also the location of several major conservative victories during the past year, with all the battles over public unions and a series of brutal recall elections...not to mention a very valuable swing state.

Vice President Paul Ryan? Fine with me.
For the record, I think Paul Ryan would be a great choice. I also think Rubio, Portman, Jindal, and everyone else on the list of People Currently Receiving Intense Speculation Regarding All Travels and Public Comments, would be just fine too. No need to panic, as I wrote last month.

We'll find out soon!

  1. If it's Ryan, the Republican ticket will have the BEST HAIR EVER of any presidential campaign!
