Podcasts and a #GOP2012 Convention Preview

Sorry about the lack of posts the past few days. I've been busy getting ready for the Republican Convention in Tampa next week. It's going to be an amazing time and we're not going to let some stupid hurricane spoil our party.

Anyway, I may not have had much time to write, but I did manage to chatter away on some podcasts this week. I've also included some links and news about the convention below the break:

First, on my regular Monday night show on FTR Radio, the Snark Factor, we had Missouri resident Molly Teichman (@Mommentator) join us to discuss the ridiculously insane, would-be-funny-if-it-weren't-true, raging disaster that is the Todd Akin Senate campaign. Molly had some excellent analysis from the perspective of a grassroots conservative who had supported Akin in the primary. You can listen to the show here, or it's available at iTunes. Remember to tune in Monday nights at 10 p.m. ET for the regular Snark Factor show (as well as the rest of the great FTR Radio programs).

Next, Bruce aka @GayPatriot invited me on the relaunch of his Blog Talk Radio show, "Gay Patriot's America." (It's also broadcast at FTR Radio.) Here is the show:

Other guests included Zac Moffatt, who is part of Romney's digital team, and USC College Republicans Chair Lauren Luxenburg. Lots of fun chatter about the convention!
[ICYMI, Bruce had a starring role in a video with Ben Howe regarding the recent Chick-Fil-A controversy. Too funny.]

OK, back to the convention stuff...I am heading over to Tampa tomorrow and it's going to be a whirlwind of a week. Lots of great speakers and amazing events. Don't miss Citizens United's free movie screenings - lots of different films to see, and you can't beat that price!

I'm planning to switch to more of a live-blogging format next week and of course, I'll be on twitter all day long (you are following me, aren't you?). I'm bringing a video camera too and hoping to get some interviews, so keep checking my YouTube channel for updates.

I'd like to give a special thank you to Jonny Torres, who has been working very hard with the convention's digital team (make sure to follow @GOPConvention on Twitter!) and Dan Dawson, RPOF's New Media Director.

This year's convention is definitely embracing technology - check out the "Convention Without Walls" Facebook app and the "Tampa 2012" app (available for iPhone and Android).

Finally, if you are coming to Tampa, make sure to read this very wise advice from Rick Wilson (the title of the article should give away the topic):
