In Winter Garden, Nice Guys Finish First: Bobby Olszewski Wins Commission Race

Winter Garden's newest
commissioner
In the middle of all the hullabaloo about the Alabama, Mississippi, and Hawaiian primaries (and also American Samoa, don't forget, ha), you might have missed a little municipal election in Winter Garden, but I was very glad to see the results.

My friend and fellow Orange County Young Republican, Bobby Olszewski, was elected to the District 3 Commission seat, winning an impressive 70.17% of the vote against incumbent Harold Bouler.

The old saying is that "nice guys finish last," but that wasn't true in Winter Garden yesterday. Bobby is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet, and he worked incredibly hard to earn this seat. I was proud to endorse Bobby in this race, and I'm sure he'll do a great job.

Congrats, Bobby!

  1. I don't live in the winter garden city limits, so I couldn't vote for Bobby, but I told people to vote for him. Glad to see the nice guy finish first this time!

  2. Bobby is the most determined guy I have ever met. Despite all that he had to endure he bounced back, brushed things off, and kept going. Congrats.

  3. Taking out an incumbent is rarely easy. Bobby should be really proud of this victory - he worked really hard for it.
