Here's a fun idea: Elect people who know how to manage money!

My friend Eric Lasso is running for the District 3 seat on the Orange County Commission, and Frank Torres posted a short interview with him on his blog earlier this afternoon:

Florida Politics with Frank Torres | Interview with Eric Lasso, Candidate for Orange County Commission District 3

What I found noteworthy about the interview is how often Eric refers to specific expertise he has in financial planning and insurance issues, and how that expertise would be helpful on the Commission.

Imagine that. Putting taxpayer money under the control of a guy who has a proven track record in managing money. What a fun idea!

Regardless of party affiliation, I think we can all agree on one thing: no one is going to cheer for government waste, and it's frustrating to see it, whether at the local or national level. It might be a good idea to consider electing some number crunchers, hmmm?

Eric already managed to save Orange County taxpayers $80,000 back in March, and he's not even elected yet. Not too shabby.

Check out Eric's website at EricLasso.com to learn more about him. (I've endorsed him.)
