VIDEO: Occupy Denver Tries to Occupy #BlogCon11, Gets Smacked Down by Vicious Sarcasm

I am really starting to lose faith in the hippies of my generation. Last year, I wrote about how some "defective hippies" tried to protest a rally for now-Congressman then-candidate Dan Webster but weren't organized enough to show up on time.

Well, I'm in Denver at BlogCon and the Occupy Denver folks decided to come and protest our conference. Of course, they weren't very smart: they announced on Twitter that they were having a "surprise march" on our conference, somehow failing to understand that a room full of bloggers has access to the internet too. I'll grant them this: unlike the goons that Grayson sent after us last year, Occupy Denver didn't just show up on time, they were early.

Hey @OccupyDenver, it's not a "surprise" march if we know you're coming. http://t.co/vRgAqgrJ #duh #blogcon11Fri Nov 11 16:38:44 via Tweet Button

Keith Olbermann calls me "improbable"...huh?!

Just when I think liberal media bias has reached the apex of insanity, I find something like this...

Keith Olbermann, who was too ridiculous for even MSNBC to tolerate, recently landed at Al Gore's internet television venture "Current TV." As expected, the move to an online audience hasn't toned down Olby's foaming-at-the-mouth liberal ranting.

This weekend, I got a tip on Twitter (thank you, @aipolitics) that Olbermann had mentioned me last week as part of his tiresome segment naming various people conservatives as "The Worst Person in the World." Unlike Olbermann, I know how to use Google (more on that in a minute), and easily found the video (relevant section starts at about the two-minute mark):

This has nothing to do with anything

This really is a completely irrelevant post, but hey, things have been getting a little serious around here, and this photo just cracked me up. So I figured, heck, it's my website, I'm going to post some Kung Fu Bunnies:

From icanhascheezburger.com

And now back to our regularly scheduled programming. Snark, politics, snark, caffeine, and even more snark...

[Crickets]

Oh, what an interesting day.

At 7:29 am Wednesday morning, I hit "Publish Post" on this:
Sunshine State Sarah | Connections between Mike McCalister and Doug Guetzloe?
...got a cup of coffee and waited...and waited...

...and waited...

I mean, surely, Colonel Mike McCalister would have something, something, to say in response, right? Right?

There's no way that McCalister, the self-proclaimed "National Tea Party Star," would join forces with Doug Guetzloe, the guy who spent 2010 threatening tea party movement groups and activists around Florida, the guy who helped organize a third party political party that was designed to split conservative votes and make it easier for Democrats to win, the guy who was repeatedly tied to liberal bomb-thrower Alan Grayson?

Of course the campaign will have a response. There's some excuse. There's some explanation. I mean, McCalister's excuse for the whole "I-testified-before-Congress-except-I-didn't" kerfuffle was that he had a "bad memory." Was that it?

I'm sure the McCalister campaign will have some sort of excuse for working with a guy like Guetzloe: "We're new to politics and didn't know any better." "We don't have Google." "No, seriously, we don't have Google."

But...nothing.

The mystery of Obama's birth certificate, solved!

This is, hands down, my favorite tweet about the release of Obama's birth certificate yesterday:

Nice try, Mr. President, but if your birth certificate was made in 1961, WHY IS IT IN PDF FORMAT?!Wed Apr 27 16:19:35 via web

For added entertainment, check out some of the responses that @MikeDrucker retweeted yesterday from people who just do not understand sarcasm.

That last tweet I linked is especially delightful, not only completely missing the snarky intent of the original tweet, but also playing the race card with an exuberant level of stupidity:

@mpoppel @MikeDrucker Gee, let me guess- maybe because it was sent via computer? Was that REALLY so hard? #racismisaliveandwellinthegopWed Apr 27 17:51:53 via web
