Fedoras, miniskirts, seagulls, and racecars!

I still have a lot of posts I want to finish from CPAC (in the meantime, you can check out some of my video interviews on my newly updated YouTube channel here), but I thought I'd put up a quick post about some of my latest shenanigans:

One of my blogger friends, Peter "DaTechGuy" Ingemi, has a radio program on AM 830 WCRN (based out of Worchester, MA) and I was a call-in guest this past Saturday.

Pete is well-known for always coming to conservative conferences wearing his trademark fedora, and bringing boxes of these fantastic cannolis from his favorite bakery to share. Darn good tradition if you ask me. Traveling with baked goods is a great way to make friends.

Anyway, you can listen to the show here. It's a two hour show and I'm on starting around the 30 minute mark. We discuss the presidential race, some of the reasons why I am supporting Romney, the great controversy over skirt lengths at CPAC (yes, this is a real thing), why Marco Rubio is so very awesome, and lots more.

Just wanted to do a little bragging about how wonderful my state is...I went to Cocoa Beach for the afternoon today, got a great cajun mahi mahi sandwich at the pier, and walked along the beach for awhile. It was a little too chilly for a swim, but still...this is February in Florida:

We also have no state income tax and we send some really great people to Congress. Come visit. Thanks :)

Finally, something else fun that's happening in the Sunshine State this week is a bunch of people making really fast left hand turns. For the record, if you've never been to a race in person, you are missing out. It is a ridiculous amount of fun. NASCAR really is one of the great American traditions and television just doesn't capture even a tiny fraction of the atmosphere.

Anyway, conservative grassroots organization American Majority has sponsored a NASCAR car this year, and will have information booths at the tracks. They have a lot of fun events planned and you can check it all out at AmericanMajorityRacing.com.

How cool is this?!
The purpose behind the sponsorship is to promote their "Pledge to Vote" program and "Keep America Free" initiative (read more at those links). In my opinion, more conservative organizations need to get involved in activities like this American Majority Racing program, reaching out to audiences that are natural conservative constituencies, but may not be as politically engaged as those of us who attended tea parties over the past few years.

I'm planning on stopping by the American Majority booth on Thursday, so if you're in the Daytona area, come and say hi. American Majority Racing is also on Facebook and Twitter (@majorityracing).

UPDATE: American Majority is looking for a few more volunteers for Thursday and Friday. If you have any free time either of those days, please contact Lonny Leitner at Lonny@AmericanMajority.org.

  1. The Daytona races are an annual event for us. I'll be hobbling around on a broken foot, but if I can, I'll try to stop by the booth sometime during the weekend.
