Sandy Adams on Greta: "Washington as Usual Has Got to Stop."

Freshman Congresswoman Sandy Adams was on Fox News Channel's "On The Record" with Greta Van Susteren last night regarding her calls for a Congressional investigation into a multi-million dollar conference held by the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Manufacturing Extension Partnership at a resort near Walt Disney World in Orlando:

Washington as usual has got to stop...two years ago, the American people rose up and said that. They sent a very clear message to Washington. They sent 87 Republican freshman to Washington with one united voice, and they said stop the spending.
Adams' Congressional office sent out two press releases regarding this abuse of taxpayer funds earlier this week (read them here and here), including links to the letters that she had sent and the whistleblower documents that had spurred her to pursue this matter.

As an Orlando native, I'm all for people coming to Disney World on vacation, but for a government agency to spend this kind of money (an estimated three to five million dollars!) when we are already almost $16 trillion in debt is just plain ridiculous.

The agency disputes the numbers and claims that they spent "only" $671,000.00. Hmmm. I'd like to see their documentation on that. Adams agrees, and has called for a Congressional investigation into the purpose of these conferences and what the true cost was.

Van Susteren also asked Adams about her primary against John "There's no way in hell I would support banning earmarks" Mica, which Adams described as "definitely a race between two different kind of people" with a smile on her face, and her recent endorsement from Sarah Palin.

If you agree with Sandy Adams that "Washington as usual has got to stop," please consider showing your support by joining her on Facebook, following her on Twitter @SandyAdams4FL07, and making a contribution in whatever amount you can to her campaign
